After some research I found that the dark marks on my models face are called Melasma. I have collected some pictures of other people with the condition so I can accurately recreate the shape, although I will emphasise the colour slightly.

Looking at images of Melasma has helped understand the nature of it and so I will be able to recreate it better when applying it to the skin.
Melasma
Melasma is patches of dark skin that appear on areas of the face exposed to the sun.
Causes
Melasma is a very common skin disorder. It is most common in young women with brownish skin tone, but it can affect anyone.Melasma is often associated with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is common in:
- Pregnant women
- Women taking birth control pills (oral contraceptives)
- Women taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during menopause.

Comparing Birthmarks to Facial Melasma has shown me that they are both similar in colour and shape but Melasma temds to not have any sort of texture, and because my mum already has facial melasma Im going to work off of that, but just emphasise it.
